Project on meta data management at the Banc of Zurich (ZKB)
After some weeks of searching a provider of student projects, I decided to apply for one of the 7 student projects offered by the ZKB. The project is about an operational datastore being a part of the EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) at the ZKB.
Well, the challenges in this project will be to get and complete existing meta information of attributes and find a pragmatic solution to retrieve them. An other challenge will be to support non expert users to get data they are interested in by visualizing the information.
I heard a lot about the friendly people at the ZKB from other students who finished their student project already. After my meeting with the responsible man for this project I have the same impression: very friendly people and very professionel too. So let’s see what comes next in the next 3 months realizing a pragmatic prototype in my student project.
Some words about the ZKB:
The ZKB is one of the 3rd biggest banc in switzerland after the UBS and Credit Suisse. The institut is under the control of the departement of Zurich and is responsible for a availability of money for the Zurich . Over 4000 people are working for the ZKB. Not less then 1000 people are working only in the information technology domain. For swiss relations this banc institut is one of the biggest commercial organsiations offering jobs in informatics.
